Scout Camping FacilitiesWe have a beautiful, gently sloping open campground conveniently located in Live Oak, Florida, just a few miles from the intersection of I-10 and I-75. The scout camping area includes several campfire rings, porta potties, two teepees, and a covered shelter. We also have hot shower
facilities and additional toilets near the camping area. Catering is available for those interested.
On the opposite side of a small valley, Scouts may visit our certified naturally grown farm for a small additional fee which includes our unique Magnolia Certified Naturally Grown Farm Scout Patch for each scouter that participates.
We grow all certified naturally grown vegetables, as well as Nubian and Alpine goats, turkeys, peacocks, and chickens.
Scouts will learn the benefits of certified naturally grown farming, and the slight difference between certified naturally grown, and organic farming, and have the opportunity to visit the animals. They also enjoy a seasonal
presentation, such as learning about the baby goats, the growing of shitake mushrooms, soap making from certified naturally grown goat milk, planting and nourishing seeds, etc.
Our special scouting rate allows scouts to pitch three tents per campsite, and each campsite rents for $20 for a Friday and Saturday night stay. The camping area has enough campsites to accommodate 200-300 scouters at a time for camporees, although we would need to arrange additional portable facilities.
We are a small, family owned farm, and welcome Troop work projects and conservation activities including assistance in planting—we are a CSA farm (Community Supported Agriculture), and so we plant continuously throughout the year to provide fresh vegetables to our CSA partner members.
Our farm is also an ideal location for scout leadership training programs (hot showers), and if you’d like, we can prepare a barbeque for your day training or overnight training programs. Catering is also available. Leaders are encouraged to come see this beautiful, conveniently located farm for yourself.
This is a unique and fun camping experience. Hayrides, bonfires, and other amenities may be arranged upon request. We look forward to seeing you!
